Fantastic FAD

Just a quick announcement, our team crit went well and now we all know where to go now. Here is a little piccie of our wicked jackets...

Also, for the great news.

Phillipa and I have been chosen to represent our team and AUCB to go forward to the FAD competition!!
I am truly shocked and grateful (believe me). All that hard work and business plan dramas paid off.

I <3 colours and stuff

I am very happy.
Hayleigh Dalton is now in 2009. From girl to super techno cs4 woman.
I have been to the wonderful peclars meeting and have started to make real progress with my trend book.
Peclars spoke to us about the new stories for A/W 10/11 and took us through fabrics and colours. It gave me a fantastic visual understanding of the these stories and how I might convey them in my own trend book.

....and now for the GREAT news! Using my new (amazing) Pantone Colour Application on my iPhone, I have made my own pallets, emailed them and placed them into my trend book complete with refrences and Pantone names!
Here are some of my own colour pallets for my stories;

Immaturity

Ms. Dominate

Sinister Cognition

Duality

Cool or what????

Stress Rash.

Oh my goodness. I think I'm going loopy.
Business plans, trend books, styling projects, PPRD, business plans.... Ok so I said business plans twice but it dosnt mean I am any less coping with this part of the project.
The thing is, a good business plan is a precious tool for a future business woman like myself, but oh my goodness are they difficult. Really struggling with it. Bad times :(

Bye bye Luella :(

Young Britsh Designer of 2008 Luella Bartley has ceased trading 'until further notice'.
Luella's chic and girly signature pieces have been seen on the likes of Alexa Chung, Lily Allen and Kate Moss.
A sad consequence of this blinkng recession eh? Along with Y3 looks like another one bites the dust...

Re-Styling MUM!

"I'm so excited! I can't wait to sort out my style. I do have a few requests though! I want to look young, at my age I need my clothes to speak for me. I also want to look expensive. BUT please please please don't go for mutton dressed as lamb, Hayleigh"

This is a genuine quote from my mum, Sue Dalton AKA Mother Dalts talking about her re-styling experiment!

Thats right, I have been given the chance to re-vamp someone's image and I have chosen my mother.
Sue is a strong, hard-working, self-sufficient fifty-something woman and is in need of a style update. I feel her clothes do not reflect her love for fashion and her strong feminine personality.
So, I am ditching her mumsy prints and shapeless silhouette and power-dressing her to the max!
Taking into account her perosnal image and body shape I am going to do my best to try some alpha-female, dominant pieces!
Castlepoint, here we come!
