Guestzilla...

What do you do when one of your closest friends decides to have the WEDDING OF THE YEAR?
Panic - that's what you do.

So needing to do a serious scout round the high street in order to look my best for her big day.
To give you an insight into the day to remember - here's our beautiful invitation;

Breaking it down - the theme is English Countryside Chic - Ladies in flowers and Gents in Bow Ties (eeeeek!). The wedding weekend will have a slight vintage element with little touches of fairytale 'Through The Looking Glass' themes present. The wedding will take place in and around a barn - so stilettos are a no-no for this event. The mud/grass ombre effect is not a good look.

So, let's see what we've got to work with.

An absolute must is my favourite ever Rose Flower Garland I got from River Island last year.
I LOVE it. Not very understated but - I think perfect for this event. Whenever I plan my outfits, I always start with the accessories and build from there....

River Island

I like this relaxed Slip Dress from RI (£30). The dress needs to be simple if I want to team it with my headband! Being floaty and soft may take the severity away from being black - not ideal for a May wedding!

Metallics are also everywhere for Spring and I LOVE this peachy/gold metallic shift dress (£45) - definitely a strong contender...

New Look

Yet again, New Look's footwear offering is exciting, the below being my personal faves (£19.99). Nice block heel too, not too high. Think these are the winners...

Or these...

Or these.....

H&M

The colour for the season evidently is yellow. Not so much pops of brights as SS13 but clean blocks colour has landed on the UK high street already.

This gorgeous flared dress (£29.99) is simple but effective. Perfect for an lovely afternoon in the countryside!

Not something for everyone - but a different handwriting for H&M is the below Ruffle Floral Dress...
Maybe not for me this one - but I am sure I will see a few of them around this summertime with a bold, pretty print.

Zara

Never one to be afraid of bold colours - Zara.
I really love this tomato red swing dress (£45.99) -also available in yellow (again!) and this 'swing' silhouette has been shown heavily on catwalks and on the high street.

Next

Always one to watch at the start of the season.
The jersey trim details on the neckline are a lovely feature and nods to the relaxed sports luxe trend that is still strong for this timing (£32)

And of course, yellow remaining victorious in these gorgeous block heel sandals...

Well, I think I have got my work cut out here. Only 8 weeks to go to the big day. Eeek. And they say the bride has a lot to worry about...sheesh!
