Black Monday

I am still alive. Just.
Today has been a really stressful day!
Tomorrow is out final crit for the Traces Project and everyone has been rushing around like mentalists trying to get everything finished.
I have just got my trend book finished after several 'missing links' and countless hours and headaches later. I shall upload pictures once it has finished printing.
We also have three beautifully finished jackets.
Here's some shots from the photshoot...

Window Wonderland!

Selfridges Oxford Street has gone all out for Christmas 2009. They have gone for a twisted fairytale-esque theme with lots of glitter and scary scary masks. The windows take scenarios from well known childrens tales such as Snow White and Cinderella.
Take a peek...

Primark: 'The recession? Oh that old thing...'

Primark’s flagship store in London’s Oxford Street is understood to have had its best ever trading day on Saturday.

Trade at the value retailer was helped by the annual traffic-free shopping day in the West End according to The Independent.

Primark is believed to have taken £700,000 at the branch on Saturday DEcember 5, a 17% rise on the same day last year.

The flagship store, which is at the Marble Arch end of the busy shopping street has been a huge success for the retailer. Accroding to reports it has turned over more than £1.5m a week since opening in April 2007 and has brought increased traffic to what was traditionally the quieter end of Oxford Street.

Primark has 196 stores in the UK and Europe. In the year to September 12 total sales rose 20% to £2.31bn.

Bit of a step up from the Poole store, but awesome news for a company started by a small Irish lady in Dublin.

I <3 colours and stuff

I am very happy.
Hayleigh Dalton is now in 2009. From girl to super techno cs4 woman.
I have been to the wonderful peclars meeting and have started to make real progress with my trend book.
Peclars spoke to us about the new stories for A/W 10/11 and took us through fabrics and colours. It gave me a fantastic visual understanding of the these stories and how I might convey them in my own trend book.

....and now for the GREAT news! Using my new (amazing) Pantone Colour Application on my iPhone, I have made my own pallets, emailed them and placed them into my trend book complete with refrences and Pantone names!
Here are some of my own colour pallets for my stories;

Immaturity

Ms. Dominate

Sinister Cognition

Duality

Cool or what????
