:(

Stress stress stress stress! AHHHH!

Thought I'd post to tell you I'm having a bit of a flap!

We had another team meeting yesterday about our new project. 'Traces'.
And now Nancy and I are about to start our concept boards and colour pallet boards ready for our scary presentation on Monday!

We have come up with the theme, 'Duality'. Expressing the split memories that mankind possess. Good and evil, happy and sad etc.

Here are some pictures of our work so far...

Technological genious!

Not really too important, but brilliant, I am currently posting on my blog from my iPhone!!! Aaaah!

First Week Back. Done.

Oh my days! Hayleigh Dalton is BACK to reality. For sure.

Here goes..

I am blogging to you currently surrounded by project briefs, learning agreements, logbooks and only a weeks full of notes but I assure you, my desk is overloading.
This first week back has been full on, to say the least, but I feel that I am back in the swing of things. I think the first year taught me to be resilient with the workload, but I am starting to realise this is nothing like the first year at all....

We have been given a blinder of a project, let me tell you.
Both us Promoters and the Designers have collabortaed to make a collection about the theme of 'memories'. We are in groups of five. Including myself we have;
Nancy(promoter)
Scott(designer)
Laura(designer)
Phillipa(designer)

Might I say. I realise it has only been a week, but I have never experienced a team quite like this one. These four are uber professional, thoughtful and creative people I have ever worked with and I am very excited about this collaboration. More on this story as it develops....

Blog Off!!

Well well well, looks like deadline day for PPRD is upon me.
You know what that means? My blog is being marked! Meaning maybe I won't be able to post for a weeks! :(

FACTS>
This blog is genius. It has genuinely helped me organise things better and the great thing about it is that it makes my crappy handwriting look all swish and cool. Two things which I am not. I am loving promoting myself (and at times dissin' myself) on this blog. I'm loving how it organises me. When it's all written down, for all to see, it's motivating and a true push in the right direction.
This blog has, undoubtedly helped me reflect and develop, which I'd say is the point isn't it??
The thought of being without it is v distressing.

So don't worry blog fans....

I'll be back!

B&M baaaaaaabe

:D
Just came out of a an awesome lesson with Jo for Buying and Merchandising!
It was brilliant. We were learning about the calculations that trainee, assistant and senior buyers and merchandisers have to face every day. And I must say, I'm not feeling as OMG**PANICKY**OMG as I thought I would have. I'm not particularly good with numbers. I know I need to work on that. But now I know exactly what to perfect before I go out into the big wide world.
Lessons like today are what I came to the Arts Institute to do. To get real insights into what challenges that I am determined to face.
Feeling really positive. One more thing.
Thanks Fda! xxxx

I <3 photo uploading....I'm getting pretty good at it, but whatever...

Now I have finally updated pictures from my toile making and important experimentation!
Oh and also might I add, the toile review yesterday was a GREAT SUCCESS!
Pat, Az and Jodie were all so helpful and came back with excellent feedback to help me move on.
I have decided to make some alterations on the skirt and the bodice involving some extra wiring and more eyelets......more on that story later.....

Confessions Of A Shopaholic......yeah, I went to see it....

And I'll tell you what....it was actually pretty good....

I don't wana sound like a bit of a moron, but despite being fun to watch the movie does have a worrying messaage which I could totally relate to!
The thrill of clothes shopping is seriously addictive and could effectively dent your entire life savings and/or paychecks.
But, Rebecca Bloomwood's story in this movie shows her trying to kick the habit cold turkey with some rather hideous talking manequins! All in all a very appropriate movie for this economic climate and for those haters who are slagging off the film, pipe down you anti-shoppers!!

Except...I will agree...the love story is total bilge!
